Trussell added to Northwest Athletics staff

Northwest Missouri State University athletics added Shelby Trussell to the staff as the assistant athletic director for business operations.

Athletic director Andy Peterson made the news official Tuesday afternoon.

Trussell's duties include oversight of all business-related activities, including budget planning and management, accounting, and all fiscal transactions.

Trussell completed her bachelor's degree at Northwest in 2019, then her master's degree a year later in business administration.

“This is a position that we’ve vetted numerous times and is one of great importance to our staff, coaches and student-athletes,” Peterson said in a statement. “We have 16 different sports or groups within our department that all have their own budget and rhythm of the year. It gets complex fast. Having a resource like Shelby, who is educated and versed in the finance world, will be profound. I’m excited to get her aboard and have another set of fresh eyes on our financial model to help us be as responsible and efficient as possible to create the experience we all want for our student-athletes.”
